Long time VB user here, I rescued a hp elitedesk 800 g2 mini from the scrap bin at work. Got it working it has 4 gb ram 500gb 7200 rpm hdd Core i3. I used the same install CD which works on other systems. The install finishes and when I reboot the system it shows the HP logo then powers off and repeats. I have Daphile running on the system now flawlessly, but want to use VB. Any Ideas?

I spent a ton of time tinkering to get that to work for me. Started with the same problem. I now have a elitedesk 800 running with a 256GB mSata drive and a 4TB seagate drive. One little hiccup to overcome, but eventually I think I will conquer.
This problem has to do with the UEFI drive. I had two machines with smaller drives, like the 500 that I was able to install 2.4 on and then upgrade to 2.5 (see https://www.vortexbox.org/forum/main...-2-5-installed)
For this last machine, I started (and mostly used) info in this post from Wirrunna (https://www.vortexbox.org/forum/main...2-5-beta/page4)
"Sean, I finally got it to work.
My problem is cheap uefi motherboards that don't allow you to turn off the uefi.
On the https://clonezilla.org/downloads.php page under Hints it tells you that "If your machine comes with uEFI secure boot enabled, you have to use AMD64 version of alternative (Ubuntu-based) Clonezilla live."
I downloaded and set up a USB key with the AMD64 version. Then I unzipped the vortexbox-25-20190306.zip image and from C:\Downloads\Vortex Box\VortexBox Images\vortexbox-25-20190306\home\partimag I copied the vortexbox-25-20190306 folder to another USB key.
Then after booting up the Clonezilla live, go through the keyboard etc defaults, then select Device-Image, local_dev, restoredisk, pick the vortexbox-25.. folder from your USB, nominate the target and use the beginner settings.
All worked to a SSD."
I put a little more detail in my steps as some of the language made me wonder why Clonezilla couldn't just say source and destination. Here are my steps:
Start Clonezilla (from the boot menu)
Select your language
Select you keyboard
Start Clonezilla
Select device-image
Select local_dev
Insert your usb with the image. This must be a different drive than you are booting Clonezilla from
Wait 10+ seconds and press enter
You will see a message about insert storage drive. All that should appear is your target hard drive. Press Ctrl-C
On the mount a device as /home/partimag screen, your source image file should be displayed. Select it and press enter
Next, select the directory of the VortexBox image. I left it on the root of the USB so I didn’t have to select several different directories to get to it.
Press enter when prompted
Select Beginner Beginner mode: Accept the default options
Select restoredisk
Select the source disk
Select the target disk
Select yes, check the image before restoring
I choose Reboot for the next command
Press enter
Select ‘y’ when prompted
Select ‘y’ when prompted
Hope this helps.

Ok followed the steps 100% using a spare 80gig hdd. It installs but now I get this after the HP screen "BootDevice not found". I had to update the BIOS before it let me Install Daphile. Aonther option I can think of is to keep Daphile and use my VB as a plex server and NAS for music storage. Is there a SSH command I can use to tell the VB to stop the LMS server?

You have to go into the bios (f10) and I don't remember the combination, but it has to do with UEFI and legacy boot. The 80 gig, was that an mSata? If so you may just have to set the boot order. For me the mSata was Sata5 and the spinning 4TB was Sata0. Just had to set the first boot to Sata5

also, make sure you follow the last 3 steps in the 2.5 wiki: https://wiki.vortexbox.org/vortexbox...n_instructions after you have all your drives installed and running.
dnf -y update
config_4-30.sh
config_local_storage.sh
eboot

re-enable the UEFI and check boot order, also there was something about legacy drives. When I get a moment I will hook a monitor and keyboard up to it to check the settings. Probably best I document it for future reference.
I have 3 of the 800 mini's running VB, 2 at friends and one here. The two at the friends are i5's with 4GB memory and I think 1TB drives. Mine is a i5 with 8GB, a 256GB ssd and a 4TB spinner. I'm sure we can get yours to work. Was the 80GB drive an ssd or a conventional drive?
