That's probably what I'd do. Are you fairly certain that the VB contains all your files? (and it's always a good idea to have more than one backup drive....I have several,, stored at different locations.)
It's the circumstance that's weird. I do a restore, rsyn shows me one track twice, and then when I look at the hard drive, the track that was shown twice is not there. It's just gone.
I mounted the backup drive and just tried to copy it (cp /backup/storage/music/flac/artist/album/track.flac .) and got some sort of IO Error. So I'm thinking perhaps I should just reformat the backup drive and redo the backup.
I'm not following you. Are you saying that after the restore, you do a clear and rescan of LMS (LMS > Settings) and you still are missing files you think should be there.
I was restoring all of my music files from a backup and ran into a strange problem. About a third of the way into the B's, one file from the A's showed up in the log, and when I looked for that file it was gone.
