Just an FYI Doris, that article on burning ISO's on a Mac you sent me is out of date. Recent Mac OS's have the command to burn a disk image in Finder rather than Disk Utility.

Just watch out for IP address changes especially when swapping out hard drives back and forth !
Read up on creating a static or reserved IP address!

Now I'm tempted to reinstall the old hard drive and try to fix the Ick Stream problem. But I better leave well-enough alone! Hahaha... Thanks again!

Good call Doris. The VGA cable did the trick. It is up and running, and I'm restoring my music library now. Thank you for all the help! Much appreciated!

Yes you should all else sounds okay.
I used a Windows machine and iso recorder when I burned mine.

The monitor I'm using is a few year old ASUS with an HDMI cable.

Just to be sure I did it correctly - I downloaded the file vortexbox24-release-20151125.iso to my Mac. Then I used the Finder command to Burn Disc Image to burn the file to a CD. When I view the contents of the CD in the finder after burning it, I no longer see a single ISO file as I did in my Downloads Folder. Instead I see six folders plus Clonezill and GPL and a readme file. I used that disc to boot the Small Green Computer Vortex Box. I believe it went through all of the installation. Then I removed the CD and rebooted from the new hard drive in the VB. At first I had could not see anything on the monitor. Later - I don't know why - I was able to see prompts on the monitor. I logged into the root and performed the update and then the re-partion. Then I rebooted. After the initial screen the monitor went dark again. I feel like everything installed. However I can't tell. It seems like I should get a VGA cable to see if I can see anything before trying anything else.

Or try the VortexBox 2.3 iso instead of 2.4!

Maybe try reinstalling the original drive and confirm that it will still boot up to the VB command prompt???

I do not know what else to tell you except ... I would definitely want to try a VGA cable .... you may also want to give the USB install a try, what brand and model monitor are you using?
maybe something went wrong with the CDR-burn?

Also, when I look for the VB on my LAN, I can see an IP for it, but I can't connect to it.
