  • Windows 10 File Explorer does not see VortexBox appliance on network

I ran into this fairly common issue and want to share a great video that (finally) walked me through the solution.

The other "solutions" only addressed part of the problem. This is the first that worked for me and hope it helps you as well.

I now have been able to map a network drive (my VB)!

Had this issue intermittently for ages and unable to find a fix until now. I can now map my Vortexbox server. The guy is a genius.

        I have this same issue.

I can "see the VB server in File Explorer, but get the "Windows cannot access \\VORTEXBOX" message when I try to access it (e.g. so I can add to the files (CDs) in the music folder)..

I have done the 3 part fix as in the video (e.g. enabled SMBv1), turned off Norton, have the latest updates on Windows and VB, tried rebooting my router, VB appliance, and laptop..

I have tried everything I can think of. Any help is appreciated!
