  • Installing VB 2.3 on 2 TB hard drive - get dracut error

    Dear all,
    I have had a happily running VB (2.3) for many years, using 750 gb Western Digital HDD.
    I am trying to set up a new HDD, 2 TB Seagate - like this:

    My current VB is a fairly elderly FIt-PC2 which I think is compatible with the HDD. I checked with the manufacturers - here:

    I set up, using a USB and the extra manual_install part to deal with certain issues as detailed here:

    Which got it a bit further.

    However - when I ran this I got following error - can anyone advise what I can do to get it running (I also tried reinstalling using an old 160GB drive which had worked in past, but the reinstallation failed with same error there).
    Please see attached images...
    Fails at partclone part - looking for restore sda5;

    It then drops down into dracut - but I don't know how to transfer the rdosreport.txt when in dracut... Click image for larger version

    try a reinstall. It looks a like a problem with your boot drive.

      Ended up downloading the old different image (archive one) and installing using the small option. This worked and vb downloaded all the needed updates ok. I couldn't get past the dracut error.
