Version 8.4.0 of LMS Available

Hello all, I read on the Squeezebox forum that they were planning a change later this summer that would render the current Vortexbox version of LMS (8.2.0) obsolete for those that stream Pandora, Soma FM or other streaming services on their Vortexbox. I took a chance and sent an email to Andrew at his Small Green Computer web site advising him of the need to update the version of LMS if possible and am happy to report that Andrew did in fact update the version of LMS to 8.4.0 dated 4/20/23.

While no indication that any other updates were planned at this time at least this will allow LMS to continue to operate for awhile.

Update is available on the Vortexbox main GUI screen.

When you say the main GUI screen where do you mean? Is that the screen that shows on your home network when you put in the vortexbox's IP address? Or is it a location on the web you can link me too?
Somewhere I can download this file would be very useful.

So all you do is
dnf update logitechmediaserver

And the web stored image will take you up to 8.4

To perform the update enter your Vortexbox IP address and you should see the main Vortexbox GUI screen. On the left side the bottom option should be "Vortexbox Upgrade", click that button and on the next screen on the top left should be an option for "Start Upgrade", click that box and monitor the results, when finished it will ask you to reboot your Vortexbox and you should be good to go.

Note that you must be using Vortexbox v2.5 as I don't think earlier versions got the update. The updated Logitech files are located on the Vortexbox repository.

I recently updated LMS through the Vortexbox web main page. Now I can not access my box wirelesly. Any ideas? Prior to the update everything worked great.
