We own an older a Small Green Computer that hasn't been updated in quite a while. The current system is: Fedora 16, VB 2.2, LMS 7.7. I'm wondering what is the easiest path to get up to date?
To move to VB 2.4 we need at least Fedora 23. VB 2.4 is needed for the latest version of LMS 8.2. I've made a full backup of our music. I've read on the Fedora website that upgrading from Fedora 16 is complicated. Would it be easier to just format the hard drive and reinstall everything?
To start over would it be simplest to:
1. Format the hard drive in the Small Green Computer
2. Install the Fedora Image.iso, from f23-base.iso from a CD.
3 Install VB 2.4, from vortexbox23-recovery.iso from a CD.
4. Install LMS 8.2 from LMS Download.
Also, what is the md5sum file for?
Thanks for your help.
