  • Minimal and optimal size for system drive

    Hi,
Lately I bought new mobo and finally moved from 2.3 to 2.4. I've tried 2.5 but couldn't run neither Transmission nor other Fedora software like Midnight Commander.

I'd like to have separate drive (SSD mSata) for system and I wondering what is the mininal and optimal (future proof) size for system. Is 32GB enough?
I'm not running Plex and LMS library is very small.

    Thanks.

Depending on what you're doing you could get by with 32GB. However with SSD's so cheap these days I don't see a good reason to go below 120GB. Those drives can be had for about $25 if you shop around.

Thanks chabelo. I will buy 64GB probably as I saw good deals for it.

64GB should be more than sufficient. I just checked a few VB's that I built and administer for friends. My most recent build currently uses about 12GB. The largest root partition I see ion any machine is about 20GB. Plus these machines have far more installed than the standard VB install. As long as you put your /storage (media) partition elsewhere you'll be fine.
