Vortexbox not showing on network

Long shot this one but I set up a vortex box for my mate and kept it totally vanilla, I have not touched the IP or anything it should be on DHCP, worked fine at my house. Bought it to his and his router range is different but we cannot pick up the VB on the network, does the VB set ip without DHCP some how?

Is there anything else I can do because I bought it along headless.

Try using an IP scanner to acquire the IP address.

Most Routers will have a place to see what has connected. Login to mate's core router or AP and look for "vortexbox" in the Device Table, Attached Devices or similar.
