  • how to config MPD in VB2.4 in new installation

Hi, I am new to vortex box.

i like to setup MPD at vortexbox 2.4, and installation was successful. But I found It seems to need config /etc/MPD.conf, I found I am poor knowledge to finish it.

if any possible someone could assist me on that?

    Great thanks,

Hello and Welcome to the Forum. Have you thought about just starting LMS and using it to play music files? It is all ready to go only needing you to point LMS at where your files are. As for MPD, you might find more answers or quicker responses using Linux Wiki and Forums. Have a look at this link:

Learn to configure mpd and ncmpcpp on Linux. This covers installing and configuring mpd and ncmpcpp on Arch Linux and Ubuntu Linux distributions.

Thanks for instruction. But when when I start mpd.service, it said "Failed to bind to '127.0.0.1:6600': Address already in use", I've tried 0.0.0.0, its new IP, localhost, same as it. No idea what to do.

Why do you need MPD and how do you want to use it?

Hi Andrew. Once upon a time I was a number 3 poster below you and Ron. I absolutely loved the project when I could use MPD. After v.2.2 I lost interest when I had to use LMS. I much prefer the sound and functionalty of MPD particularly in conjunction with Minimserver. UPnP works well with BubbleUPnP.

You have done some incredible commercial software for SOtM and Sonore that allows a choice of players. Is there a chance to get some of that going here?

It would be great to have MPD, Minimserver, UPnP, internal and/or external NAS storage.
