No it's not. Amahi is very complicated and has way to many packages. VortexBox is a simple stripped down system for ripping and playing back music.

Amahi is an alternative to Vortexbox; they are both a collection of applications running on Fedora. I don't think that your question is logical.

Amahi does look interesting and seems to have an active community. However, the latest version seems to have a problem installing LMS which would rule it out for me:

Is Vortexbox based on the Amahi Server? If not - it might be a good choice to simplify the next version of Vortexbox
